Herzog took over a dog bed at my parent's house.

Herzog most likely tried to bite my ear immediately after this was taken.

His thoughts are along the lines of "I cannot believe that you want me to poop at a rest stop on the highway. Everyone is looking at me."

Bark bark bark

Herzog encounters a mirror for the first time.

Evidently last night I was saying "Good Herzog" in my sleep, and Jon was afraid to squeeze his pillow because in his sleep he thought he was hugging the puppy and didn't want to hurt him.

The dog is obviously driving us to the brink of insanity.

Herzog got in to some catnip.

Sad Gangster

Herzog feels great shame because his jersey is too big.

I woke up because I thought I heard Herzog whimpering to go outside, but it was just my neighbor's door squeaking.

Everyone, please be very quiet, I think he might be sleeping for more than 3 hours straight tonight.

Herzog Makes Some Friends

Last week Scott and Bridget stopped by to meet Herzog. He chased them both around the courtyard for a good half hour, he was so excited to have new friends to play with.

I think Scott's in love.

Accidental Tricks!

I'm going to pretend that Herzog is already very, very well trained, and was rolling over because I told him to.

Leaps + Bounds

Herzog grew weary of his bone, and tried to leap off of the couch. I am getting skillful at making one handed puppy catches.

Mischievious Look

Moments later, the couch felt his playful wrath.

Blaming the dog

Jon has been blaming his farts on Herzog. For shame! Everyone knows that puppy farts are silent but deadly.

Sunday, May 2, 2010

Herzog likes to get up bright and early. Once the 7 AM sun starts to shine in through the window, no amount of whispered "goooooooood boy, lay down, gooooood boy, shhhhh" will get him to go back to bed. Luckily, Jon has figured out a trick to make Herzog think that an additional 2 hours of sleep was his idea. A quick bathroom trip, a morning snack and 10 minutes of tug of war with Big Cat will have him ready for nap time again. YES!

Herzog does impressions now. This is his Simba impersonation. You can't tell from the photo, but he's snorting the tune of "Circle of Life."

Waiting to pounce.

Napping on dad's lap.
